Tu.....Tu.....Two for Tulo!
The Rockies beat the Reds again tonight 9-2. Troy Tulowitzki dropped the hammer down in the 3rd inning with a three run homer into left field. Tulo wasn't done either. He led off the 5th inning with a solo home run, his 17th of the year. I wonder where his numbers would be if he hadn't missed 33 games earlier this season with a broken wrist. He has five homers in the last six games and has driven in 13 RBI's in the last eight games.
Prior to spring training, Troy uttered a phrase that bordered on hyperbole. He told a few friends that Carlos Gonzalez was his most talented teammate. Not this season. Ever.
A few months later, after upper deck home runs, broken bat triples, savvy stolen bases and laser throws, Carlos has become better then even imagined. Gonzalez is a surging National League MVP candidate. With 23 games remaining, "Little Pony" as his teammates call him, leads the league in batting average, and RBI's, and is just three home runs shy of Albert Pujols.
