Trade Night Success

I went to my first trade night at Mike's Stadium Sportscards. I wasn't really sure what to expect. After all this was my first time.
Stashed away in my bag I had a few game used, relics and some autographed cards. My game plan was to scope out what everyone else was trading and see how my cards compared.
Now before I continue on and show you the cards I got, here's what I went through to finally decide on which cards to take with me. You remember? The cards I stashed in my bag?
Before going last night, I spent some time......okay I spent three hours......sorting through my cards trying to decide which ones to take. I didn't want to take too many with me but I wanted to take the ones I thought would be good trades. Then I thought maybe I wasn't taking enough of them and wondered if what I thought were good trades, really weren't good trades.
So I picked a few cards out. Put a couple of them back. Then sorted through another box. Decided on a few more. Then wanted to keep a couple of those so picked from another box I had. Put a few of them back after thinking maybe I wanted to keep most of that box. Grabbed a couple more from a binder in my closet before remembering that was my "no trade" binder. Grabbed a handful from the shoebox under my bed before finally deciding on which ones I was taking and threw them in my bag. I made sure I was up to date on the prices and memorized ERA's and RBI's of some of the players on the cards that I was taking with me. I wanted the other collectors to know that I do know a little bit about the players and the sport of baseball. I didn't want to come across as only collecting the sparkly, pretty, shiney cards, or only collecting the players that have the biggest muscles and look really awesome in their uniforms not to mention looking really nice running around the bases. For the record.......I am not one of THOSE collectors.
Then I went to my closet and tried to decide which shoes looked better with my new jeans and if the bag that I threw the cards in would look okay with the shoes.
Well.....you probably get the picture.
So anyway, here's what I got! First off......this sweet Buster Posey RC!!

My Tulo autograph collection is growing! Thanks to Military Mike for this trade! I didn't get Mike's last name. I know he just recently moved here and said he is stationed at Buckley AFB so Mike if you are reading this send me an email so we can talk Posey and stuff! You can find my email address on my profile page!

Random Cardboard Time

Well it's been quite some time since I've done one of these posts. Random as random can get.

I Left My Heyward Auto at the Card Show

The 2010 Topps Chrome Heyward Auto was a really great pull, but the cards I traded it for are pretty great too!

Give me a "T"
Give me a "U"
Give me a "L"
Give me an "O"
What does that spell?

So now you all know what I want for Chirstmas!

Updated Topps Wrapper Redemption Program

Update: On Oct. 22, Topps announced that it will be adding autographs of Buster Posey and  Jason Heyward to the program. There will be 100 signed versions of each card with Refractors numbered to 90 and Green Refractors numbered to 10 also to be found in the packs.
I have another 48 wrappers to send in. I pulled my Heyward auto the other night so bring on Posey!

The Price is Wrong BI-ATCH!!

If you read my post on the 10-19-2010 you'll see prices I found listed on COMC for some of the 2010 Topps Chrome cards I have. If you haven't read it scroll down or click here. Now today is the 10-21-2010 if I'm not mistaken, and my "stupid question of the day" is "What's up with the pricing of new releases and why have these prices dramatically changed within just two days?"
I've been told that a true collector doesn't really care too much about a cards listed price. I'm not totally convinced on that though. But how stupid do I look now?
But before some of you try and pull the Adam Sandler/Bob Barker/Happy Gilmore stunt, let me just defend myself! When I typed up that post on 10-19-2010, the prices I listed WERE the prices listed on COMC that day! If you don't believe me.....talk to Bob! Actually I don't think anyone who might read this would challenge that! You've all been very helpful and kind to me and my little blog here. I just really wanted to say...."The Price Is Wrong Bitch"! just because it makes me laugh!
Thank you to my virtual friends and fellow collectors/bloggers who I've traded with and who comment on my posts. You have all made me feel right at home here. Even though we all live hundreds of miles apart, it's sort of like a family huh?

Heywards From Heaven

In an earlier post I claimed to have found cardboard heaven. Well I had to make sure so went back there today.
Yeah.......I'm pretty sure that I really did find cardboard heaven! It's called Mike's Stadium Sportscards.
I met Mike the owner....he's pretty awesome too. I can't wait to go to my first trade night at the end of the month. Here's the top four cards I pulled from the 2010 Topps Chrome hobby box I bought in heaven today.

Lance Zawadzki RC Auto #193

Jason Heyward RC Auto #174

Jason Heyward Blue Refractor #174 63/199

Stephen Strasburg RC #212
Yes that's right! Not one, but two Heywards! I'm happy!
